Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar was an American and British sitarist. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and also the first female recipient. Apart from nine Grammy nominations She was also the first musician of Indian origin to present at and perform during the ceremony live. Anoushka Shankar is among the rising stars of India's sitar. She is a student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. She was born in 1982 in London. Her childhood years were spent between London and New Delhi. At New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years of age. Later she moved in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999.
